Parking and Height Restrictions

Wrexham No height barriers on civic centre car park, next to "Water World" complex - three excellent baths, slide, gym and good cafe.
Chester Little Roodee car park by the River Dee crossing. No height restrictions.
Broughton Retail Park (nr Chester) Off A55, couple of miles south of Chester. No overnight parking, but no height restrictions.
Conwy Car park below the castle has five bays for caravans and motorhomes. If you approach over the bridge, it's first left after the castle BUT we thought the archway in the town walls looked a bit narrow for our liking so we went another way around involving backstreets and wrong turns. Perhaps the easiest way is to approach from the South, from Llanwerst.
Cheshire Oaks outlet village/Coliseum retail and leisure park J10 M53. However, no specific parking for motorhomes. The coach park specifically excludes private vehicles although we saw one parked there. For Cheshire Oaks, our recommendation is to park in the overflow parking area of the Coliseum park (adjoining) behind Argos. If you go to the extreme end of this parking area, you can walk to the entrance to Cheshire Oaks, and you'll find plenty of space.
Whitby No height barriers except in August (!) according to Whitby Tourist Information Centre. Why August? Who knows!
Scarborough No barriers according to the Local Authority. But "there are two car parks which you may find difficult and are best to avoid" (!!!).They continue "These are the underground car park in the South Bay and the St Thomas St car park in the centre of town".
Pickering

Pickering Tourist Info said: "None of our Ryedale Car Parks have height barriers on them so you will not be restricted in that respect. There are however a couple of things I would like to point out which may be of help to you. If your motorhome overlaps the conventional length of a car parking space, then I am afraid you will have to pay for two bays, also, please do not park in a Coach bay, as this is not allowed.

The Eastgate Car Park would be the best one for you in Pickering, as this is by far the largest park. It is situated just by the roundabout on the junction between the A169 Malton to Whitby Road and A170 Helmsley to Scarborough Road.

Parking Charges are as follows:

Up to 1 Hour                     70p

Up to 2 Hours               £1.20p

Up to 6 Hours                £2.10p

Over  6 Hours                £3.20p

If it is of interest to you we sell a Weekly Car Parking Permit for £6.00, this allows you to park in a Short Stay Car Park for up to 2 hours or in a Long Stay Car Park for any length of time, (not overnight) so if your motorhome overlaps a bay it would work out cheaper for you as you would then only have one bay to pay for".
